CHALLLENGES:
Filling stadiums with local and international fans.
Promoting respect for the national anthems, flags and culture of opposing teams within the stadium.
Spreading among Italian students a new culture of inclusion and hospitality towards international fans.
Bringing the U21 closer to the general public and the media.
World Funk Pictures managed the Digital, Video & Social Media strategy for the promotion of the UEFA Euro Under-21 championships held in Italy in 2019.
In collaboration with CONI, we have involved many Italian Olympic athletes who have helped us promote the UEFA Euro Under 21 championship among their fans and who have supported the #TifiamoEuropa programme, aimed at promoting respect for national anthems and team culture opponents in the stadium.
To help a large and diverse audience understand the importance of not whistling the hymns, we have created two videos with our testimonial Andrea Pirlo.
In collaboration with the MIUR we have also engaged students from various schools to celebrate with them the values of inclusion, solidarity, integration and hospitality (as opposed to the violent slogans that are heard too often in the stadium) with Music and Street Art. Many students actively participated promoting the #TifiamoEuropa project through social media as micro-influencers.
We created the Mobile App for the Under 21 European Championships, through which we distributed the contents of the championships and promoted the sale of tickets through the distribution of coupons.
